To continue into my home update, this is a peek into my bedroom…
We actually kept a lot of the furniture the same in this room and just updated small things. My bed, the lamps and the bedding are the same as they were prior to the update. I wanted to add a little edge, so Britt found this leopard lumbar pillow that I’m OBSESSED with.
Another thing that I used for both my bedroom and bathroom was Framebridge. I stole this picture from my photographer friend Kelsey Cherry’s instagram (@kelseycherry). I literally just sent the Instagram link to Framebridge, picked the matte and frame and it appeared on my doorstep a week or two later. It was so easy and I love that no one else will have the same art on their wall!

I have 4 of her pieces in my space because I love them so much! Sometimes it’s all in the details of how you really make your space feel like YOUR space, ya know? I love that my dresser has all of these tiny details that truly do represent me. Britt did an amazing job of recreating this area of my room, because I hated this dresser and almost got rid of it. She made small changes to the stuff on top of it and added a modern mirror.
Also, if you listened to this week’s mini-sode on the Velvet’s Edge podcast we talked tips of how to modernize old pieces in your space. Like this lamp for example: another piece I almost got rid of, but Brittney found me this modern lamp shade, we swapped it out and poof the lamp took on a whole new life. Now I LOVE it and the change only cost me $50.
All things Tom Ford, because Tom Ford is all things.

I’m also obsessed with the mirror above my dresser and it’s on major sale! Find it here.
And last, but certainly not least is my bedroom magazine wall. I took down some shelves from the wall that I wasn’t feeling anymore and we debated over and over as to what to do with the wall. We started looking into wall paper, but I couldn’t land on anything I loved that wasn’t crazy expensive or that I wouldn’t be over in a month. The magazine tear sheets was such a perfect fit for me because obviously I work in fashion and beauty and also just having powerful women on my wall is so inspiring to wake up to everyday. It completely changed the entire feel of my bedroom and if I do decide to take it town, it’s just a simple tear away because we used wall tape instead of glue. The best part is that it probably cost me $50-60 total.
