Immune Boosting Tricks

With the world opening back up after isolation, I’m noticing a lot of my friends (and myself) coming down with colds or stomach bugs. I’m not doctor, so this is purely just an opinion and observation, but I can’t help but think that not being around people last year and wearing masks, may have our immunity a bit lower. As we move into less isolation and more people and places, I am putting a lot of focus on staying healthy. If you’ve followed Velvet’s Edge, you know that I’m not a huge medicine girl and really prefer to try and stay healthy and let my body do it’s magic when I can. Here are a few of my favorite ways to keep that immune system strong and some of the foods I love to help do this too!

Check out this article on foods that help build immune systems!

I take these Wellness Vitamins at the first sign of feeling sick.

I also love this Ginger Tumeric Tea. Turmeric contains a compound known as curcumin, which has antimicrobial properties and can help to ward off illness. It is also used to fight inflammation within the body, which is the cause of most diseases.

Here is a recipe for my favorite Immunity Elixr. Drink 1 cup at the first symptom of illness, and another cup every 2 hours, or as desired. Do not re-heat the elixir, as this will damage enzymes and nutrients. Drink at room temperature or cold after you refrigerate the remaining portion. It will last a week in the fridge or store in air-tight containers and put in the freezer! This is the Elixir I drank daily when I had Covid and I swear it helped me heal faster.
