Lord, we have some major tough topics this week on the Edge on the Velvet’s Edge Podcast. Our master astrologer, Marvin Wilkerson, told me that the chaos and reframing of our society weren’t just going to end with 2020 and he was right. With everything from the terrible tragedy of a building collapsing in Miami to Britney Spears, finally speaking out in court against her conservatorship- our lives’ weekly updates seemed irrelevant and we had to dive straight into these discussions.
One of the main discussions that had my partner in crime, Chip Dorsch, on a rant, was the use of Gay Pride month as a selling point from corporations. We dissected how people are promoting and supporting Pride and what motives seem to be behind certain uses. What do you guys think? Are companies using the pride moniker for self-serving uses or does it feel like people are simply authentically supporting?
