As a designer, I am faced with clients who are true art connoisseurs. Meaning, one small print could cost $5k. Yea! But most of humanity will not or can not fork out that type of money. Art.com has become one of my best friends. I love it because they have great pieces and you can size them to a really large size. Here are a couple of tips I have about this site:
1. I always go for the biggest size, but sometimes that backfires and the print is too pixelated. The good news is that you can easily return it.
2. I always just order the print and have it framed in Nashville. You would need to price out the shipping on a framed print, versus the price to get it framed where you live. You might find that you can save money on shipping and spend less just framing it in your area.
3. For pieces like this, I never do a matte.
