Holy crap, I like pink!

For as long as I can remember I have not been a pink fan. I’m Puerto Rican and pink is just not for me. BUT in INTERIORS it has started to grow on me in a big way. This will be shocking to all my clients and friends. Last year I did two jobs where I threw in a little pink and I fell in love with both rooms.

This year I selected two blush sofas for a ladies lounge I was designing and then I realized I had been converted to a pink lover. Insert the emoji where the monkey is covering his eyes.

After all of these tiny moments leading up to my unpredicted pink loving fate, Pantone came out with their color of the year… ROSE QUARTZ. Lets just say it has created a frenzy in the interiors world and even in the “hot men” world.

If you didn’t see Sam Hunt at the Grammy’s last night, you straight up missed out.

Since the color of the year announcement, sites likes pinterest have been flooded with all things Rose Quartz or actually just anything pink. If you type Rose Quartz into pinterest you will see beautiful interior images such as:

Completely disregard all of my designs, after seeing this door feel free to add a pop of pink into your interiors, because this door picture is everything.

I love to see pops of pink done in velvet, personally. A pink velvet pillow in an otherwise neutral space can actually add an edge to the room. All along I thought pink was for preppy people, no hard feelings Kate Spade lovers. But I was wrong, a pop of pink into an organic, edgy or glam space can actually add a cool factor. I searched the world wide web looking for my favorite ONLINE pieces in various shades of pink, so hopefully this will help you guys add a little pop to your space. But please, no more than 5 pink items per room. 🙂

  1. Thoughts on black, white, tan (all neutral) living room…with a VERY subtle “pink”, but not really pink wall??? I hate to even say a pink wall
