Avoiding Holiday Hangovers

How To Avoid Holiday Hangovers

If you have followed Velvet’s Edge for awhile, you know I am a big advocate of avoiding hangovers. Ain’t nobody got time for that, but also nobody wants to just stay home all the time either. Since the holidays are full of parties and heavy food and lots of alcohol, it seemed fitting to give you guys my secrets of how I avoid feeling hungover.

1.Charcoal Pills

I swear these babies have changed my life. Recently I have been taking two before I drink and two when I get home that night. Charcoal pills work by absorbing the toxins in your stomach and soaking them up for you, so your liver doesn’t have to. I use the ones by Bulletproof because they are made in a coconut capsule that is easy for my body to digest.

2. Turmeric

Another thing I take the nights or days after drinking is turmeric. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and similar to charcoal can help soak up toxins from your body. Tumeric is also great for protecting the liver. Click here to read more about the benefits of turmeric and click the pic below to shop. The one linked below also has ginger and black pepper which will also help a hangover.

3. Pedialyte Popsicles

When all else fails or if you do wake up feeling a bit hungover, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Sometimes I just can’t stomach chugging a lot of water after a heavy night of drinking, so I love these popsicles by Pedialyte to get your electrolytes back up and dehydration down. Plus they taste good. Click the pic below to shop.
